As part of the Energy Awareness Program holds an energy awards ceremony annually. As the prime contractor, DRC supported the ceremony for four consecutive years at the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. DRC prepared a program for the Award Ceremony, a multi-media presentation, and a script narrative for the speaker of the awards ceremony. The script discussed the energy and utility dollar savings. DRC wrote media placement articles for submission to at least three Navy publications, three national publications, and to local newspapers, radio and TV stations. DRC also provided HTML programming, site integration of the new SECNAV winners on the Navy Energy Home page. This task also involved developing a SECNAV Awards Process Flow Chart, which documented the multiple steps involved in the awards process - to ensure the program is conducted efficiently and effectively. Each year, various size Navy and Marine Corps activities, ships and squadrons compete for recognition and funds through the SECNAV energy award program. DRC converts up to 30 of these award application submittals and submits them to DOE for further competition at the Federal level.
