DRC supported the design and construction of the East Central Interceptor System East–West Alignment, providing cost estimating, specifications and design in several areas: tunnel alignment, construction and excavation, control structures, geotechnical and structural engineering. DRC acted as point of contact with the city, managed consultant interfacing with city divisions, and coordinated consultant services. Our team also monitored and reviewed the master schedule items and developed and implemented a Quality Control Plan. Our project management duties included providing meeting agendas and minutes, drafting subcontracts and invoices, revising schedules, and quality control. To support the tunnel alignment, DRC created profile drawings that displayed positioning of all utilities and underground water piping structures to ensure the absence of conflicts and to comply with structural requirements. Our team also prepared a Tunnel Design Summary Report, a Geotechnical Design Summary Report, Design Criteria Memorandums, and Tunnel Construction method memorandums. DRC’s design support included street restorations for three control structures and shaft sites. DRC helped acquire easements for more than 200 properties and created parcel maps for more than 100 properties using the Intergraph CAD program.
