Robert (Bob) Babbitt, REA

Project Manager, Water/Wastewater

 

Mr. Robert "Bob" Babbitt joined the DRC family in 2005. He is a Senior Project Manager leading our Air Treatment Facility Design and Construction Management Group. Mr. Babbitt has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington at Seattle, as well as certificates in Project Management, Waste Water Treatment, Hazardous and Toxic Materials Management, and California Construction Laws. He has over 30 years experience as Process Engineer and Project Manager in the field of chemical engineering.

 

Mr. Babbitt served as DRC's Senior Project Manager for the recently completed City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Sanitation, Air Treatment Facilities (ATF). He designed and oversaw construction of this highly complex, state-of-the-art, $150M, Odor Control program for City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Sanitation (BOS). Concurrent with the design of Phase II, he managed an extensive investigative research program on sewer system wide odor control performance. Results of research impacted the Phase II design, with resultant cost savings to the City of over $100M.

 

Mr. Babbitt has expertise interfacing with construction management, contactors, vendors, inspectors, staff engineers, and City of Los Angeles program managers.

 

Mr. Babbitt has also functioned as a Senior Third Party Administrator for Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) where he was Contract Administrator for multiple utility and agency contracts. He interfaced and coordinated multiple tasks with Federal, State, Regional, and Local authorities; as well as with hospitals, schools, and private entities.
