DRC provides comprehensive plan checking services, on-site and from our local office. Assignments have included reporting to the agency’s assigned representative, managing plan check task orders, supporting community outreach, and ensuring each task order is completed satisfactorily on-time and on-budget. Examples of plan check service contracts include: On-Call Engineering Design Review and Plan Check Services - Port of Long Beach (POLB): DRC’s team thoroughly reviewed project plans for compliance with the City of Long Beach, POLB plan check requirements, required codes, design standards, CAD standards, standard details, ADA Title 24, environmental mitigation, and engineering practices. Town of Yucca Valley Development Review: DRC reviewed and approved tentative maps, lot line adjustments, and final map approvals signature, reviewed up to 1,600 lot subdivisions, reviewed and approved Hydrologic Engineering Center-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) hydrology analysis and drainage/storm drain hydraulics for major drainage courses within the subdivisions, including detention basin hydraulics and design. Our team developed street improvement and traffic circulation requirements for developers and reviewed their plans to ensure the town’s approval. City of Irvine Subdivisions Civil Engineering Plan Check: DRC provided map and plan check services to assist the city with reviewing subdivision plans for a large development. This included reviews of grading, hydrology/hydraulics, street improvements, storm drains, hillside development design standards, and traffic devices. Port of Los Angeles - Harry S. Gibson/I-110 Interchange Improvement Project Management and Construction Support: DRC provided construction support and mentorship to the Port’s engineering staff for this $150M improvement project. Three members of DRC’s staff worked full time at the Port throughout the project and others supported work as-needed. They conducted plan reviews, reviewed RFIs and change order requests, and coordinated with utility companies and Caltrans. DRC also participated in community outreach, coordinated and attended meetings with stakeholders and staff from the city’s Bureau of Engineering, maintained schedules, reviewed budgets, and ensured contractual performance.
