DRC prepared final contract drawings, specifications, and other construction contract documents and provided related professional services to fulfill the design work. Our staff supported all the architectural finish work, including, but not limited to: finish flooring, railings, canopies and roofs, benches, signage, and graphics; installing client-furnished items such as trash receptacles, fans, dampers, TVM’s map cases; waterproofing for platform support slab; site design and layout for the Traction Power Substation and Communications and Signaling buildings and for the Pasadena Water and Power vault at Corson and Los Robles. Mechanical work involved fire protection, drainage, plumbing, HVAC, and miscellaneous related work. Our staff embedded conduits for fire and intrusion alarm detection system and for ventilation and grounding; conduits and mounting details for CCTV, a public address system, and fire and intrusion systems; conduits and cabling for auxiliary power; conduits for train control and communications; conduit runs within the limits of the station contract to emergency trip stations; conduit runs for traction power from traction power substation to a location at a manhole interface; electrical lighting, conduits, panels, breakers, timers. Structural engineering and finish design support included retaining walls, a pedestrian bridge at Holly Street, and pedestrian paved areas. Pedestrian paved areas included, but were not limited to, ramps, walkways, and stairs. Roadway support involved modifications, improvements, and street closures at end and near station, and PTSS and C7S site. DRC coordinated work with Art-for-Rail Artists commissioned by LA Metro.
